Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 had over 78 suits for fans to try on. However, there are still some suits I wish the game should’ve included. Whether or not we’ll see these new suits in a future DLC is yet to be confirmed. Without further ado, here is the list of six suits I wish the game should’ve included.
- Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 had over 78 suits in the game.
- There are still some suits I would’ve loved to see in the game.
- DLCs could bring an opportunity for these suits in the future.
The Spectacular Spider-Man
I think we all saw this coming when I made the list. Although it had a brief run of only two seasons, The Spectacular Spider-Man series has garnered widespread acclaim as the finest Spider-Man television adaptation to date. Its mature themes, captivating action, remarkable soundtrack, and the seamless balance between Peter Parker and his alter ego offer an enjoyable experience for audiences of all ages.
Given the success of incorporating cel-shaded suits in the previous game, it’s a shame we couldn’t see more of this style explored in the sequel. Not only would the web wings have worked well with the new mechanics, but It would’ve been a nice nostalgic trip for fans who wish to see more from this iteration of Spider-Man.
Spider’s Shadow
As the symbiote continues to corrupt Peter, the suit starts to become more venom-like and undergoes metamorphosis. The eyes acquired angular contours, fangs protruded from its mouth, the logo’s limbs became erratic, claws materialized on the hands, and black web-wings emerged from the fabric. There’s no doubt that Insomniac has done a wonderful in executing its take on the black suit. However, I wanted to see more variations of the symbiote surge suit and this could’ve been one of the fine examples to use.
Poison
Speaking of Spider-Man being corrupted by the symbiote, what if Peter permanently bonded with it? In that case, we have Poison. With a spindly-legged spider featuring three black circles on each segment, this version of Spider-Man’s logo is accompanied by the moniker “Poison,” as he deems himself superior to Venom. This is what I believe to be another missed opportunity for more variations of the surge suit or black suit in general.
Spider-Man Unlimited
Drawing inspiration from Spider-Man 2099, the suit showcases a well-executed combination of red and blue, highlighted by an elongated red spider emblem on the chest and a stylish web cape. Additionally, thanks to nano-technology, the suit boasts impressive durability and can be donned within seconds. Despite the ill-fated cancellation of the show, the futuristic design of this suit undoubtedly left a lasting impact on fans. If this was added to the game, it would’ve seamlessly blended with the cel-shaded art style.
Miles Morales Black Suit
This would’ve been a nice what-if style addition, as a black suit for Miles would’ve been an amusing addition. This suit features an elongated symbol, intimidating eyes extending to the mask’s rear, and a stylish black hood that suits his persona remarkably. Furthermore, the design effectively distinguishes itself from the original. Also, dare I say that it looks way better than the suit Miles wore at the end of the game (you know which one I’m talking about?).
Supaidāman
The Japanese Spider-Man suit beautifully combines Western and Japanese influences, featuring the classic suit with traditional Japanese aesthetics. it includes a utility belt with gadgets and a notable spider bracelet that allows Spider-Man to summon and control a mecha named Leopardon. This unique interpretation could’ve been a great bonus since we already got the Spider-Clan suit in the previous game.
Bonus: Custom Craftable Suit
It is a bit of a weird idea in my head but it’s something that I would love to see and that’s a custom craftable suit. Imagine if you could select what part of the costume you need for each part like the Scarlet Spider mask with Bombastic Bag-Man suit or making a custom futuristic Spider-Man by combining different armors and variations of Spider-Man 2099 suit.
Similarly, this would allow fans to experiment with a unique design of their own and showcase it to the community. I can guarantee we’ll end up seeing some interesting results in the process. Even if there wasn’t any option in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, maybe we could see it happening in Marvel’s Spider-Man 3.
Conclusion
Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 having a lot of suits is an understatement, to say the least. However, there are still some suits that I believe would’ve made the game even more fun had they been added. Even though Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 doesn’t have any unique suit abilities like its predecessor, collecting all of these suits is still quite fun in its way. Perhaps, in the future, we might get to see these suits one way or the other.
