CD Projekt Red has posted a job listing on Linkedin for Senior Gameplay Animator for Cyberpunk 2077 Sequel codenamed Project Orion—a highly anticipated follow-up in the Cyberpunk franchise. The company’s website has further highlighted creating the “most realistic and reactive crowd system in any game to date,” for the Lead Encounter Designer job listing.
The Ambitious Cyberpunk 2077 Sequel

In addition to the realistic crowd system, the game will have “first-person view model animation” and “detailed weapon animations,” thus confirming the first-person perspective. However, it’s also possible that there will be a third-person perspective as well when driving vehicles like its predecessor. Hopefully, in the future, players may get the option to switch between first-person and third-person perspectives as development evolves, kinda like Avowed.
At the end of the day, we’ll have to wait and see what end product they deliver to the fans in a few years. Considering how The Witcher 4 is aimed to be bigger than The Wither 3 and Cyberpunk 2077 and the fact that the company doesn’t want to repeat the same disastrous launch as Cyberpunk, I’d say it’ll be worth the wait if they take their time.
Despite the terrible launch, Cyberpunk 2077 managed to sell 30 million copies worldwide, generating revenue of $752 million dollars. Seeing how the sequel is still in the early stages of development, it’ll most likely launch for the next generation of consoles succeeding the PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.
